Archive Viewer for WhatsApp exports

WhatsApp filling up your phone? Export your chats, keep the .zip files on a computer or drive, and read them here anytime — photos, videos and voice notes included. Everything runs in your browser: your files never leave this device, nothing is uploaded, and the archives are never modified.

Heads-up: when picking a folder, your browser may label it "upload" — nothing ever leaves your device.

Opening a multi-gigabyte export on a phone takes a minute or so after you tap Open: your browser copies the whole .zip before this page can read it, and stays on the file picker while it does. Nothing is being uploaded — it is worth the wait. To read chats on a phone, a Without Media export opens straight away.

Export a chat from WhatsApp

  1. On your iPhone, open the chat and tap its name at the top.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Export Chat.
  3. Choose Attach Media to include photos, videos and voice notes — or Without Media for a small text-only file that opens instantly, even on a phone.
  4. Save the .zip it produces: AirDrop it to your computer, or use Save to Files and copy it over later.
  5. Open it here — Choose export .zip files, or just drag it in.

Freeing up your phone: once an export opens correctly here, you can clear that chat's media on the phone (WhatsApp → Settings → Storage & Data → Manage Storage). Keep the zips somewhere safe — from then on they're your only copy.

Anything shown as an "omitted" placeholder was left out by WhatsApp at export time and is not in the zip. Android's export format isn't supported yet.
